Google Maps Dark Mode feature launched on iOS
Finally, the Dark Mode feature was introduced in the Google Maps service on iOS devices. The much-anticipated feature came to Google Maps almost two years after Apple's own operating system iOS 13 unveiled the Dark Mode feature.
The new mode will reach users in the next few weeks. As a result, they will have the opportunity to use the Dark Mode feature at night or in a dark environment.
To turn on Dark Mode, first, go to the device's Settings menu. Then tap on Dark mode and turn it on. There is also the option to automatically flip into light and dark mode with the device's system settings if the user wants.
In addition to Dark Mode, Google Maps is going to bring some more new features in the iOS version. One of them is widget support. Also nearby traffic status and shortcuts to Google Maps in the search bar. Users can see the location of their home or nearby restaurant with one click.
The facility to share live location from iMessage too is being added. By default, location sharing will be for one hour, but this live location sharing can be continued for a maximum of three days.
